Theme: Hegemonic
Declines: Present and Past Call For Papers: The IROWS PEWS conference will address the problems of conceptualizing and assessing hegemonic rise and decline in the modern world-system, especially comparing the current era with the earlier Dutch and British hegemonies. In addition, several sessions will be devoted to the study of hegemony in the emerging �Central System� in the Western Asian/ Eastern Mediterranean region from 1500 to 700 BC.
