Once again I have to apologize in advance, but
this particular post by me has to do with what I believe to be an attempt to
sabotage the WSN list. It might sound like paranoia, but another "critical of
capitalism" list I was a member of was attacked in a similar way a few years
ago. Several members (not me in that incident) were sent pornography over
the internet and then were criticized for being users of pornography.
Today I received this e-mail notice. Along with my name are the names of several
other WSN list members. And a variety of other names that I cannot
decipher. Perhaps someone with some computer skills can track down the
sender.
It is odd that this is happening as a
contentious discussion has come to an end on WSN. I have no idea who is
trying to weaken WSN. It might be a law enforcement agency, or perhaps just some
"independent" Right-wing group. But I wanted to expose this attack on ALL list
members right away. I DON'T want this to start a whole long discussion
about this and distract the list. But I believe I have a responsibility to the
list to make this attack known.
Below this note is a copy of the list of
recipients of this posting, as well as the opening headline of the message we
received. I have deleted the pornographic language and photos. Again, I
don't mean to cause another distraction. Just rather to provide a warning.
