If everything you say is true, and I don't doubt it, it still leaves the
question of Palestinian strategy.

If you are right, it is imperative that something new be tried, because
otherwise the outcome is either defeat or war, and I don't think that is
going to help anybody, unless you want to project a 50 or 100-year jihad
in the region that might win only at some unimaginable cost.

So notwithstanding that I perhaps underemphasized the religious zealotry
of the Israeli settlers (although I think it was implied), the question is
still what a constructive strategy might be in place of throwing stones
and creating martyrs and blind rage.  Organizationally too, if the
leadership of the movement continues on the trajectory of the last decade,
shifting from secularists to Islamic revivalists (Hamas and Hezbollah),
the prospect for a better future is nil.  Where is the progressive
alternative with a vision and strategy to capture the imagination of the
youth now venting frustration and being encouraged to think in terms of
jihad?
