solution for all?

One more point about Georges Drouet's post. How in the word are we going to
come up with a solution that is acceptable to all parties? How do you
reconcile the capitalist's desire for profit and capital accumulation with
exploited/oppressed people's need for basic human rights- such as freedom
and equality? How do you reconcile the multinational corporations' interest
to explore new sites for extraction of surplus value with people's
aspiration to have a decent life? Can you offer some concrete suggestions?
By the way, my solution is not either socialism today or an uncritical
acceptance of capitalism forever. There are a diverse range of struggles
that can be developed right here, right now. Socialism today may have to be
"socialism from below," achieved through prolonged counter-hegemonic
processes, or what Marcuse called a "long march through institutions."
Again, working with grassroots organizations may very well be a part of that
project. But it is important to understand that while class reconciliation
may be a pragmatic compromise that we have to pursue for strategic/tactical
reasons, the basic antagonism between capital/labor is irreconcilable within
the framework of capitalism.
