Re: Current Situation in Russia

Dr. R.J. Barendse,

My questions are: why now do the US and Russia want to become allies?  Are armaments in North Korea and Iran or elsewhere rising at an alarming rate?  What exactly did Clinton and Russia talk about that projected this line of negotiation?  How will Putin manage his public image in a anti-American Russia now after the visit? (more attaches on Cheychena?)  And finally, the news reports coming into America are all bright and pretty which immediately makes me question what is it that the government does not want us to know?

To the others on the list - I know that, speaking for myself, sometimes it is difficult to listen to all the bad news that we are innodated with by this list (and others).  It has helped me immensily to focus on my own most pressing focus area and try to ignore the rest as best as is possible.  Otherwise, you feel like you just don't know what to do first.  It is also helpful to remember this when posting to a list with such varied interests.

-Nico
