KJ, the easiest way to answer your request for more detail on the Spiral Ch.
5/ views on market socialism would be to scan in the chapter. But I wouldn't
want to break any copy right laws.

Your QUESTION: How do the authors deal with the "Austrian" critique (mind
you, that is a misnomer, since there are lots of Austrians who don't follow
von Mises) and the Stiglitz critique?

ANSWER: I checked the bibliography. There is no entry for von Mises or
Stiglitz. Conclusion: the authors don't discuss those writings. The book is
very non-polemic, a book on principles, just stating the authors' views -- a
skillful walk through a political mine field. In no way do the authors
oppose the raising of productivity, they argue for raising global justice
and for democratic and social responsibility throughout the world system --
very compatible with the kind of global Keynesianism which I am trying to
sell.
