Re: a world-system list

Dave,

A condition exists where a small group appears to dominate the discussion
of a listserv because of the relatively silence of others on the list to
begin and engage in their own threads. The solution is not to make one
group shut up or to suggest their topic of interest - e.g., the role of
racism in maintaining capitalist domination - is "undeserving" of detailed
attention. The solution is for others to (instead of complaining) start
their own threads of interest.

Your post (and others) have this appearance: that it is not enough to have
your own conversations, but that others should not have their own and give
their undivided attention to yours. In your view, Jozsef's posts are
useful, and so you want more of those and not anymore of, say, mine. Okay.
Then rather than waste posts complaining, simply engage Jozsef, save his
posts, whatever, and ignore mine. There really is a simple solution to all
of this.

Frankly, this whole wave of complaints is really absurd (though apparently
periodic on WSN). To an outside observer it must seem that some members
just don't like other members and they wish they would just shut up and go
away. I can honestly say, I don't feel that way towards any of you.
