APPEAL FOR DONATIONS
FOR SIERRA LEONE
Since its inception in 1991, Friends of Sierra Leone (FOSL) has provided
a substantial amount of relief materials and medicines to Sierra Leone.
In 1998, FOSL sent its 18th container to Sierra Leone, containing over
$100,000 worth of medicines, and over 100 bales of clothing, food
items, first-aid and school supplies, even kitchen equipment and toys.
The medical supplies were distributed to the Loretto Clinic in Makeni,
the Magburaka Government Hospital, and hospitals and clinics in
Freetown and its environs. The school supplies, food, and clothing were
distributed at displaced peoples' camps.
FOSL is now leading another in-kind donation drive for emergency
assistance to victims of the protracted civil strife in Sierra Leone.
