|In Eastern Europe (for example in Latvia), as soon as Nazi disabled the
|local police, citizens began beating Jews to death with sticks and their
|bare hands.

This is inspiring. What is wrong with the following two sentences?

In Western Europe (for example in Germany), as soon as (the) Nazi(s)
disabled
the local police, citizens began deporting Jews to death camps etc.

In North America (for example in L.A.), as soon as the riots disabled the
local police, citizens began beating up Koreans etc.

Clue: If something is wrong with the latter two, is there nothing wrong with
the first one?
