Bravo to Stiglitz, although he may well have over-stated the case for
why Korea and Malaysia has apparently done better. He suggests it's
the more independent policy; but it may well be the same reason as he
suggests pulled Mexico out of the mess -- exports, in the Korean and
Malaysian case, electronics, which started coming out of its 97/98
downturn in late 1998 and then went up strongly in 1999. At last
count, in Malaysia, electronics exports constituted close to 70% of
total exports!

Just a little query: re Russia, wasn't HIID and Jeffrey Sachs amongst
the architects of that disaster?
