In defense of email messages that come as attachments, including those that
are *not* cut and pasted, I'd like to point out that Chase-Dunn for instance
has sent many in this form, and it seems that most of them are quite
informative and useful.  I hope to see more of them, like that which
included the ICFTU's statement.

On the other hand, the suggestion for a short description to accompany
attachments is not a bad one.

I've an unrelated suggestion of my own.  I notice that on the web site for
this list, there are directions on how to subscribe, but not to unsubscribe.
It might be useful to update that site with the procedures, and for the
moderators of this list to include a link to that page at the end of their
emails to the list.  This would help reduce the number of people writing in
with requests on how unsub.
