[Fwd: Position in Latin American History]

The History Department of the University of Scranton seeks candidates
for a tenure track position at the rank of assistant professor beginning
in September 2000.  PhD and teaching experience is required.
Responsibilities include teaching courses in Latin American history and
participation in development of a new interdisciplinary program in Latin
American studies.  Additional interests in areas such as Asian, African,
Middle Eastern or gender history would be helpful.  The University is
proud of its mission in the Catholic and Jesuit tradition and spirit,
and the successful candidate must be able to support this mission
through his/her work in history.  Preliminary interviews will be
conducted at the OAH annual meeting in Spring 2000.  Send letter of
