Assuming that you're right about limits to growth -- and basically, then,
so was Malthus -- what do we do?
If we're really just bacteria mindlessly reproducing in a petri dish, then
why bother to disseminate learned analysis of the situation? (Or
entertaining essays like "Lunatic Politics" on your website.)
Unfortunately, I tend to agree with the doomsayers, but if there's no
leverage for action to be gained in all the analysis, then we should find
something more constructive and/or enjoyable to do.
