The Journal of World-Systems Research now contains a new article by
Kees Terlouw, "Is the world-systems approach restricted to a global
perspective?: the connection between global and regional developments
in pre-industrial France."

Kees is a regional geographer at the University of Utrecht. This
version of his article is a text file with associated graphics, but by
February 1 JWSR will publish an HTML version of Kees's article with
the graphics embedded for those who have access to the World Wide Web.
We will also produce HTML versions of all the other articles we have
published this year. Henceforth JWSR will produce both text and HTML
versions of articles. We want to encourage submissions by scholars who
can use the hypermedia capabilities of electronic publishing -- graphics,
animated graphics, video, and audio, though our main criteria for
publication will continue to be scholarly merit. JWSR articles are
anonymously refereed.
